Did You Know:
 … You can shop in the    Bugbee  Senior Center Crafts Store whenever the Center is open! If the door is not open, just ask any    Bugbee staff person and they will be happy to open the store for you. Browsing is encouraged. We have a nice  supply of baby gifts, quilts, kitchen items and one-of-a-kind items.

If you are age 60 or older and make hand-made items that you might like to sell on consignment in our Crafts Store, contact Emily at the Center.

"Cabin Fever"
Crafts Supplies Sale


It's amazing how nickels, dimes and quarters add up! (The highest priced item in the sale was $6 for a 6-yard piece of fabric.) Our "Cabin Fever" Crafts Supplies sale brought in $396 on Saturday, March 18th. Subsequent sales brought the tally to $447.75! 

A very special "Thank You" to Mary Blackmer, Joan Bomhower, and Betsey Peale for sorting, bagging and pricing fabric, and to Eleanor Smith, Pam Stone and Emily     Santaw for sorting and pricing all of the other items and for cashiering at the sale on Saturday. 

We also appreciate everyone who supported the Center by patronizing our sale!

White River Council on Aging Awarded Grant
to Recruit Volunteers

The White River Council on Aging has been awarded an $11,877 grant from the Vermont Senior Center Earmark Project which will allow us to develop new ways to recruit and retain  volunteers to help with our nutrition programs and medical transportation. We also will work on ways to encourage new seniors to take advantage of the many resources and opportunities we offer at Bugbee Senior Center.

Kathy Avery, Executive Director, will be the project manager, while Ransom Ackerman, Jr., our Volunteer Coordinator, will use his high-technology skills to put together multimedia presentations to highlight both the services and opportunities that are currently available at Bugbee Senior Center, and the need for more volunteers to help us continue to offer them.

We are very excited to have been awarded this grant and look forward to using it to spread the word about Bugbee Senior  Center!
