Aug. 3 12:30 "Personal Safety at Home. Capt. Dave Rich from Hartford Police Department will share information about how to avoid being a victim of scam artists and other criminals.
Aug. 4 11:00 BAZAAR MEETING. See page 1. 12:30 "Stroke Risk". Linda Arsenault, RN, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Neuroscience at DHMC, will talk about how to assess your risk of stroke, the silent killer.
Aug. 9 12:30 "Ladies First". Karen Crawford will share the details of this program that pays for health screenings for women.
Aug. 10 11:00 "Jillian", an English Lop therapy rabbit who was recently inducted into the 2004 Vermont Animal Hall of Fame, returns for a visit. 12:30 "VT Medicaid Prescription Programs". Erica Perry, from the Vermont agency formerly known as PATH, will talk about the programs that are designed to help low-income Vermonters pay for prescription medications. See related article on page 3.
Aug. 11 "Together" with Judy Adams. The topic this week is "Procrastination", so if you have been putting off coming to see what this group is all about, perhaps this is the right time to do it!
Aug. 12 Irish Folk Music. Peter Phippen has been delivering donated vegetables to us this summer. Recently, we learned that he is a musician and he's agreed to come entertain us.
Aug. 16 12:30 Antiques Road Show. Si Lupton invites you to bring in up to three small items and he'll give you an educated opinion as to their value as an antique or collectible item. Please sign up.
Aug. 17 12:30 Shirt Painting Class with Mary Wood. Bring in a shirt, scissors and $7 and Mary will help you decorate a shirt for Christmas. Class size is limited, please sign up.

Aug. 25 10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams. Set your troubles aside and explore some ways to gain peace of mind in your daily life. 12:30 "SARS Virus Update". Last year, SARS made the headlines. Wendy Thomas of the VT Dept of Health will tell us what has been learned since then.
Aug. 27 12:30 "White River Youth Garden Project". Nancy Bloomfield, project coordinator, and a couple of very young gardeners will share their vegetable garden success stories and their vegetables.
Aug. 30 12:30 "Scrapbook Attic". Sabina from the "Scrapbook Attic shop will share designed and theme materials to introduce the fun of making scrapbooks as a way to preserve those special memories.
Aug. 31 12:30 "The Family Place". Mardi McGregor will describe the services and programs offered by this agency.
