Aug. 1  1:00 Bugbee Book Club. This month,  the book is "Are You Afraid of the  Dark?" by Sidney Sheldon. Copies  available at the Center.

Aug. 2  12:30  Sandy Austin will perform a  musical medley of Irish, Country &  Western and Gospel favorites.

Aug. 3  12:30 "Elders and Alcohol Use".  Lee  Larson, VT Dept of Health, will give a  presentation about alcohol,  medications and aging.

Aug. 5  8:30 Bugbee Breakfast. Join us at  8:30 for scrambled eggs, sausage,  home fries, toast, orange juice, and  coffee/tea/milk for $3. Please sign up.

Aug. 8  12:30 "VT Fuel Assistance". Melanie  (Cash) Ferrell, Senior Advocate, will  give an overview of the Fuel Assistance  program for 2005-2006. Bring your  questions.

Aug. 10  10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams.  We will begin our written projects to  document our lives. It all begins with "I  was born…"

Aug. 11  12:30 "Elderwise".   Is there an older  person in your life who needs help to  remain at home? Martha Miller and  Virginia West will discuss local options  for finding trained caregivers to ease  your situation.

Aug. 15  12:30 VT Legal Aid. Free legal  assistance is available to Vermonters  who qualify. Meris Bergquist, VLA staff  attorney, will explain the services that  are available.

Aug. 16  12:30 "Genesis Eldercare". Pam  Shaughnessy will discuss the services  available at the Lebanon facility.

Aug. 17  12:00 Former Phone Workers Lunch.  Please sign up if you used to work for  the Phone Company, so we can seat  you with the group. If you know of  others who might not be on our  mailing list, please help us spread the  word. Jim Southworth will entertain on  his keyboard.

Aug. 23  12:30 "Everything You Ever Wanted to  Know About Cremation But Were Afraid to  Ask!" Tom Robinson, owner of the Eternal  Flame Crematorium in Brattleboro, will  lead an informal discussion about this  increasingly popular option.

Aug. 25  12:30 American Pie Raffle. Win a  delicious homemade pie! Chances are 50¢  each or 3/$1 and will be available starting  Monday, Aug. 22nd. You do not need to be  present to win, but you must pick up the  pie by 4PM on the 25th or we will eat it.
