February Happenings Feb. 1 10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams. "2nd Anniversary: Looking Ahead." What do we hope to accomplish in our group in 2006? Let's plan our topics.

Find out what new books are being added to the Quechee Library shelves in our computer room. 1:00 Bugbee Book Club. "White Hot" by Sandra Brown is this month's selection. You do not have to have read the book to attend the discussion.
Feb. 6 9:00 Tax Assistance by appointment. Assistance will be available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings through April 12th. Appointments can be made by calling the Center at 295-9068. (See page 1.) 12:30 "Relaxing Touch" with Jenny Gelfan. Soothe your aches and pain away with easy touch techniques.
Feb. 7 12:30 "Hat Day". Wear your favorite hat ….the crazier the better! We'll show them off in a parade and award prizes.
Feb. 9 9:00 Quilting w/Colleen. This month's project is a hand-appliqué heart. No machines needed. Please sign up. 12:30 "Favorite Household Tips". Do you have a quick and easy solution to everyday household situations? Write it down on our "tip sheet" and place it in the box to be read aloud after lunch.
Feb. 10 12:15 "Love Songs". The Suite Notes will present a romantic concert to set the stage for Valentine's Day.
Feb. 13 9:00-10:30 Legislative Forum. VT State legislators have been invited to come to the Center to discuss issues of interest to seniors. Bring your questions and concerns. 12:30 "Medicare D Update" Marleen Eddy, VT State Insurance Program, will bring the latest information about the Medicare prescription drug program.

Feb. 14 10:00 "Make a Valentine". We'll provide the materials; you provide your own creative touch. 12:30 "Valentine's Day Lunch". We'll have door prizes and a return engagement by "The Blonde Toppers".
Feb. 15 10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams. "Anticipation is Half the Fun!" When we look ahead with a positive attitude and expect success, we double our fun in the process. 12:30 Bugbee Cinema presents "The March of the Penguins". Join us for this delightful and moving documentary. You'll be glad you did!
Feb. 16 12:30 Cane/Walker Clinic. Brad Bailey, of Keene Medical Products, will check your equipment to make sure it is safe and properly fitted to you.
Feb. 21 12:30 Mardi Gras. We'll be celebrating "Fat Tuesday" a little early this year. Join us for Cajun music, performed by MJ Slattery and Andy Stewart, and Cajun food. Wear purple, gold and green, and come prepared to have a good time!
Feb. 22 12:30 "Advance Directives and End-of- Life Issues". An "advance directive" is a set of instructions that will help your loved ones carry out your wishes if you are unable to speak for yourself. A new advance directives law took effect in VT last Sept. 1st. If you have signed a "living will" and/or "durable power of attorney for health care" written under the old law, they are still valid. However, Eleanor Zue, Paralegal, will speak about the new provisions so you can decide if you need to make any changes.
Feb. 27 "Popcorn Day". The familiar mouth- watering fragrance of popcorn will greet us and we'll celebrate the magic of this popular snack.
