July 3  12:00 Red, White and Blue Day!
  Get  ready for Independence Day! Victoria  Hicks will bring strawberry/blueberry  treats from the Hanover Co-op for  dessert.

July 5  10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams.  "Independence as We Age". Many  aspects of our lives determine our ability  to live alone and function independently.  Recognizing our needs is crucial to our  happiness.

July 7  8:30 Bugbee Breakfast. Join us for  scrambled eggs, sausage, home-fried  potatoes, toast, orange juice and coffee/ tea/milk, all for just $3. No tax, no  tipping! Please sign up.
12;30 "Book Bits". Edye Lowell will  showcase some of the books that you  can check out from the Quechee Library  shelves in our library.
1:00 Bugbee Book Club. This month, the  group will discuss "Metro Girl" by local  author Janet Evanovich.

July 10  10:00 Bazaar Workshop(s) will be held  every Monday morning until the end of  the month. There will be a variety of  projects to work on at each session.  Please come lend a hand to help  prepare items to sell at our Christmas  Bazaar. All materials provided.
12:30 "Food Addiction". Glennie and  Janet, from Food Addicts in Recovery  Anonymous, will discuss the role that  food plays in our lives.

July 11 12:30 "Memories". Marion Levasseur  will share more of her memories of  growing up in Vermont. 

July 13  12:30 "Sleep Apnea". See page 2.

July 14  12:30 Make Your Own Sundae.  After  lunch, we'll provide the ice cream and  toppings. You decide which ones suit  your fancy.

July 17  12:30 "Abenaki Legends" with  Grandmother Susan. Come hear stories  that date back to ancient times.





July 18  12:30 "Hartford Summer Events."  Hartford Parks and Recreation Dept.  Director Tad Nunez will talk about the  special times planned for this summer,  from weekly free concerts to special  "grandparent/grandchild" events.

July 19  10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams.  "Time to Laugh". Often, the best thing to  do, perhaps the only thing to do, is to sit  down and laugh. What makes us laugh  instead of cry?

July 20 12:30 American Pie Raffle. If you would  like to donate a homemade pie (any  flavor) for this little fundraiser, please give  us a call.

July 25  12:30 "What's New at Genesis  Eldercare?" Pam Shaughnessy,  Admissions Director, will speak about  the services available at the Lebanon  facility, and the admissions criteria.

July 26  12:30 "Everything You've Ever Wanted  to Know About Cremation" Tom Robinson,  owner/operator of Eternal Flame  Crematorium in Brattleboro, will speak  about the services available from his  facility. While this is not something most  people like to think about, there are steps  you can take now that will make things  easier for your loved ones "when the time  comes".

Simple Strawberry Mousse

2 cups quartered strawberries
3 Tablespoons sugar
˝ cup low-fat sour cream
1˝ frozen low-calorie whipped topping, thawed

Combine strawberries and sugar in blender. Pureé until smooth. Combine pureé with sour cream in large bowl, stirring well with wire whisk.  Fold topping into strawberry mixture.  Spoon into 6 (6-ounce) custard cups. Cover and freeze until firm.
