Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) provides trained volunteers to assist seniors with the preparation of uncomplicated VT and federal income tax returns, by appointment only. Make an   appointment by calling 295-9068 or in person at the Center.
Be sure to bring the following documents to your appointment with the Tax Assistance volunteer:

• Your Social Security card;
  
• Copies of the income taxes you filed last  year, if any;
  
• Proof of all sources of income (W-2 if you were employed;    1099-R if you received pensions and annuities); Social           Security; Interest and dividend income; State rebates and pre-bates; IRA  income; Sale of stock or real estate; any other      income;
  
• Copy of your 2004-2005 property tax bill or signed landlord      certificate. If you are filing for Renter Rebate, Homeowner Property Tax Rebate or Act 68 School Property Tax Payment Application, you will need to bring proof of income for everyone in your household.
  
• Tax booklet and forms, if you received them in the mail.
