March 16  1:00 Sugarhouse View Farm Van  Trip. Christy Hazen, our assistant cook,  has invited us to take a tour of the  sugaring operation at her family's farm  in West Hartford. $2 per person will  help pay for the gas. Please sign up.

March 22   9:00 Ukrainian Egg Class with De Van  Pelt. Come learn this folk craft in time to  decorate for Easter. $2. Class minimum:  5 participants.

March 24  12:30 "Over 60 & Overweight". Dr.  Laura Barre, Center for Aging Research  at The Dartmouth Institute for Health  Policy and Clinical Practice, will explain  how losing weight is different in older  adults. Recommendations for diet and  exercise  for weight loss in older adults  will be included. See page 6.

March 26  10:30 Tai Chi. A new 8-week course  begins. $35. Pre-registration required.

March 29  12:30 "100 Years of the Connecticut  River Valley".  Historian Jay Barrett will  present a look back at earlier times in the  Upper Valley. By the early twentieth  century, a hundred years ago, the upper  Connecticut River valley was a place of  scenic beauty, agriculture, long graceful  covered bridges, steam powered  railroads, early brass automobiles, and  even large annual log drives. Using  modern slides of some of his favorite  antique post card views, we will explore  some rich and colorful aspects of this  wonderful past history.
