Don't Mix Aspirin and Ibuprofen

According to an article in the April 2003 issue of the AARP Bulletin, regularly taking ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, Nuprin, etc) can cancel out the effects of aspirin that protect against heart attacks and stroke. Taking ibuprofen only on occasion doesn't seem to cause a problem, nor do pain killers such as acetaminophen (Tylenol). So, if your health care practitioner has recommended that you take an aspirin a day for your heart, be sure to ask what you should take if you need to routinely take an anti-inflammatory medication.

If you have a concern about the quality of care you receive from a provider -- hospital, home care agency, nursing home, doctor, outpatient clinic, or other site -- and you have Medicare health insurance, you are encouraged to contact us.
We are the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. We have a contract with the federal government to make sure that the quality of care you receive is good.
We are proud of the care given to Medicare patients in our three states! And we get very few complaints! Buy if you have a concern, you have a right to speak up!
We can review complaints about the quality of medical care you receive. (Not about things like the food or the temperature of your hospital room.) You might make a difference in the way the next person gets care. All quality of care complaints need to be in writing.
If you are unable to write down your complaint, you can call us with your information and we will help you:
