Nov. 4   12:30 "Feeding Winter Birds" with Bill  Shepard of Thetford.  Find out how you  can attract, enjoy and help the birds  that stay here through the cold  weather.

Nov. 5   12:30 "Food Stamps/Fuel  Assistance" with our Advocate,  Melanie Cash. Learn more about these  assistance programs that could benefit  you or people you know.

Nov. 11 12:30 "Veterans' Day Sing-Along"  with Karolyn Wiebe and Rob Blackmer.  Raise your voice in celebration of the  sacrifices made by our men and  women in uniform.
1:00 Cribbage with Cliff. Please sign  up if you would like to play so Cliff will  know how many to expect. Prizes will  be awarded.

Nov. 13 9:00 Quilting with Colleen. Please  sign up. Colleen will be bringing kits to  finish for our "Holiday Boutique".
12:30 Karoake with Vaughn.  Something new  for us here at the Center. Come find  out what it's all about!

Nov. 18 11:45 Pie Raffle. We had a good time  with our weekly pie raffles last summer  so we thought we would do one this  month. Tickets may be purchased in  advance. We'll draw the winning  ticket at 11:45 AM and you do not  have to be present to win.  (However,  you must pick up your pie before 4PM  on the  18th or we'll eat it!)
12:00 Brent Buswell, Accordionist. We  are pleased that Brent will return to  entertain us. If you have not heard this  talented young musician, you've  missed a great performance!

Nov. 19 12:30 "Diabetes" with Registered  Dietitian  Claudette Peck from Alice Peck Day  Memorial Hospital. She'll give an overview of  this common  affliction, give tips on how to  manage your diet and answer your  questions.

Nov. 20 12:30 "Alzheimer's Support Group Information" with Pat Nelson from the  Vermont Alzheimer's Association. We're  trying to determine if there is a local need for  an Alzheimer's support group. If this is  something that would benefit you, please  come.

Nov. 25  11:30 Social Half-Hour;
12:00 Thanksgiving Dinner. Join us for an  early Thanksgiving feast. Karolyn Wiebe will  provide a selection of "thankful" music for  your enjoyment. Suggested donation: $4.00.  Please sign up by Monday, Nov. 24. Parking  is limited so please carpool, if possible.

Looking Ahead…
AARP Volunteers Tax Preparers will offer income tax return assistance to seniors starting next February. Income Tax training  for volunteers will be given at Bugbee Senior Center during the first week of January 2004. If you would like to become a volunteer tax preparer or would like more information, call Steve Carter at 802-457-5141.

Our annual holiday cookie sale will be held on Saturday, December 13th. If you have any cookie tins that you would like to part with, we would be happy to have them. We will also be looking for donations of fancy holiday cookies to sell. If you enjoy baking, please


In Case of Stormy Weather

During the next few months, there may be days when the weather conditions make it unsafe for staff, volunteers and participants at the Center to be on the roads. Please listen to your radio for school closing announcements. Generally, when Hartford School District schools are closed X at 295-9068 after 8:30 AM. When possible, we will try to leave an up-to-date message on our answering machine.  When the Center is closed, there will be no home-delivered meals.
