November Happenings
Nov. 1   10:00 Crochet. Would you like to  learn to crochet? Do you already know  how but need a little refresher? Are  you in need of help with a crocheting  project? Come to the Center and Joan  Emery will be happy to help you out.

Nov. 2   12:30 "The Family Place" in Norwich  is a resource for parents and young  children in the Upper Valley. Mardi  McGregor will explain the services they  provide.

Nov. 3   10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams.  This week the topic will be  "Loneliness", the impact it can have  on our lives, and how to deal with it.  (The first step is to join our group!)
12:30 "Telemarketing Investment  Fraud". See related article on Page 2.

Nov. 8  9:30 Christmas Shirtpainting Class  with Mary Wood. Cost: $7, payable at  the class. Bring a shirt to paint and  scissors. Mary will provide decals,  paints and instruction. Please sign up.

Nov. 9    12:30 "Pictures of Yesteryear". Mary  Nadeau of the Hartford Historical  Society will bring pictures of Hartford  in years gone by in the hope that you  will enjoy them and that you may be  able to identify some of the places,  faces and events.

Nov. 11  9:00 Quilting w/Colleen. Put the  border and finishing touches on the  "Mystery Quilt" started last month.

Nov. 16  12:30 "Share Your Pictures". Now  it's your turn! Bring in your old pictures  of people, places and events that  happened long ago in Hartford,  especially if you have questions about  them.

Nov. 17   9:00 Yarn and Crafts Supplies Sale.  It's time to clean out our basement!   Come pick up materials for projects to  get you through the winter! The sale  will continue through Friday.



Nov. 17   10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams.  "Preparing for the Holidays" can be a  special challenge. Come share some  of the ways to make the holidays as  pleasant as we all hope they will be.

12:30 "Thanksgiving: Then and Now".  Let's share our recollections of childhood  Thanksgivings: what we ate, who did the  cooking, who gathered around the table,  what we were most thankful for.

Nov. 18   12:30 "Come to Ireland". Norma Fisk  and Maggie Fortier have both traveled to  the Emerald Isle and have pictures and  stories to share.

Nov. 23   11:30 Social Time, followed by  Thanksgiving Dinner at 12:00. Suggested  donation: $4. Seating is limited so please  sign up. Parking is also limited so please  carpool, if possible.

Nov. 29  12:30 "Feeding Winter Birds". Bill  Shepherd of Thetford will bring lots of  information about how to attract, feed and  help the birds that usually "winter over" in  the Upper Valley.

Oh, just one more thing…
… we're looking for plain gift boxes (such as shirt boxes) to use at the Bazaar and in the Crafts Store for baby sweater sets, etc.
