Introducing Our New Executive Director

My name is Len Brown. I have been named as the new      Executive Director of the White River Council on Aging/Bugbee     Senior Center, to replace long-time Director Kathy Avery.
I first want to thank the Board of Directors for this opportunity to serve the Center and the folks who use our services. As I learn more about the daily operations and people connected to our programs, I ask for your patience with me. I intend to be "all ears" for the immediate future as I learn about our programs and, most importantly, get to know all the people who make up our "family".
By way of a quick introduction, I have been a schoolteacher and administrator in several different schools in Vermont. In 2005, I retired after thirty years and decided to try some different things, and also have time for myself. I have held a couple of sales positions and currently do some part-time work supervising foreign    exchange students who are in the United States.
My wife and I have a grown daughter and a five-year-old granddaughter. I live in Westminster, VT, but also own a place in East Barnard, VT. I am looking forward to learning about all of you and your wants and wishes for the future of the Center.
On a final note, I want to wish Kathy the best as she enters a new phase in her life. I'm sure that all who have been "touched" by her during her tenure here share that sentiment, and hope she will "not be a stranger".
