October Happenings
Oct. 4 12:30 "Volunteer Opportunities at Bugbee". Ransom Ackerman, Volunteer Coordinator, will speak about ways you can be part of the action here at the Center.
Oct. 5 10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams. Today's topic is "The Greatness of a Giggle"! Laughter relaxes muscles, reduces blood pressure and helps us cope with our everyday life. We'll practice for the World Laughter Program on Oct. 14th at 12:30. 12:30 "Marian's Memories". Marian Levasseur from East Barnard will share her memories of growing up in a small VT town during the Great Depression.
Oct. 7 12:30 "Book Bits". Edye Lowell of the Wilder and Quechee Libraries will bring a small selection of current books that you might enjoy borrowing from their shelves in our library. 1:00 Bugbee Book Club. The book this month is "Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold.
Oct. 13 9:00 "Quilting with Colleen". This month's program will feature a tablerunner. 12:30 "Ms. VT Senior America" Coronation (see page 3) 1:00 Double King Pede. Come learn to play this card game. If you already know how to play, so much the better! We'll continue the games on Thursday afternoons.
Oct. 14 12:30 "World Laughter Tour". Do you want more laughter in your life? Join us for a gentle, laugh-filled 30 minute session of breathing, stretching and various laughter exercises while we sit and feel our stress fly away.
Oct. 17 12:30 "Justina's Doll Show", featuring dolls created by Richard Simmons, Kelley Ruberts, Rusty's and many more. You may browse the collection starting at 11:00.

Oct. 19 10:30 "Together" with Judy Adams. We have places where we nestle for refuge and peace, returning there again and again…. to "Our Comfort Zone". 12:30 "Flu Update". Wendy Thomas, RN, VT Dept of Health, will share information about the flu and how you can best protect yourself.
Oct. 20 12:00 Retired Nurses Luncheon. Everyone is welcome, but please sign up to be seated with the nurses.
Oct. 21 12:30 "Harvest Moon" concert by the Suite Notes, our own recorder group.
Oct. 25 12:00 "Fish Fry Day". We've had a donation of scallops, shrimp, haddock and other goodies that are usually beyond our budget.. Please sign up so we'll be sure to have enough.
Oct. 26 12:00 "Mystery Day!" We're not going to spill the beans. Expect the unexpected!
Oct. 27 12:30 Pie Raffle.
Oct. 30 10:00 Cider and Donuts. We'll kick off our Halloween celebration with these traditional treats. 11:45 Halloween Costume Parade. Come in costume or put one together from our costume box.
