Staff Changes
at Bugbee Senior Center

After 19 years as Program Planner, Judy Hunter has left the Bugbee Senior Center to become the Secretary of the Thetford Baptist Church. We can't begin to describe the many contributions Judy has made here over the years or how much we will miss her, though she assures us that she will come back from time to time as a participant or, perhaps, even as a volunteer!
Judy Adams of Post Mills has been hired as our new Program Director. (How handy for us that her name is Judy!)  She joins us after six years as the Director of the Vermont Senior Companion Program. Judy has also worked with Hospice for many years and is a teacher with experience in many fields.
Judy Adams is excited to continue the varied activities that Judy Hunter has initiated and to bring new and fun ideas to the Bugbee Senior Center. Be sure to stop in soon to meet her!
Assistant Cook Terri LaSure has also left the Center. Terri has done a super job getting the home-delivered meals ready to go, along with many other tasks, since 1988. We miss Terri and wish her well in her next endeavors

Did You Miss Us?

Are you wondering what happened to your copy of the August "Bugbee Bulletin" because it never arrived in your mailbox? It's a long, sad story but the quick version is that our old "386" computer died and the 15-year-old software that we were using was not compatible with any system we could find. So, while we had relatively recent back-up files of our newsletter mailing list, we had no way to print out labels or even access the information.
  Thanks to many hours of persistent assistance from Ransom Ackerman, Jr., Robert Fletcher and Tom Henderson, the problem has been solved and we are again able to send you the
"Bugbee Bulletin". We will be instituting some changes, both computer and procedural, to try to ensure that this situation won't occur again.

Bazaar Update

Thank you to everyone who brought in old Christmas cards, picture frames, and wide-mouth jars. We now have enough of those, but we still would appreciate donations of:

  • 100% cotton solid-color fabric;
  • ½ yard (or larger) pieces of fleece;
  • Clay flower pots in good condition (no chips or large cracks) 3¾", 4½", 4¾" to
      5 1/8" high.
