Home Delivered Meals Drivers

Time: 11:00 -12:00 Monday through Friday. Usually a volunteer will choose one day a week, or allow us to call them on a substitute basis.

There are several different “runs” from the Center each weekday. They currently are as follows: White River Jct., Hartford/Wilder, Norwich, and Thetford.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Deliver meals to home-bound or convalescing individuals.
    
2. Act as liaison between the WRCOA and the homebound.
    
3. Record the meals delivered on the cards provided.
    
4. Notify the Bugbee Senior Center office staff if anyone on your route did not answer their door or if you have other concerns.

DUTIES:

1. Arrive at the Center a few minutes before 11:00 AM. Pick up the meal cards from the kitchen. Read through the cards and organize them according to the route you will take.
    
2. Be sure to count all of your bags, hot meals and meal cards, so that you have the correct  number of each. If you have questions, ask the kitchen staff before you leave.
    
3. Deliver meals to the designated people.  If anyone does not answer the door, do not leave the meal (unless you have received other specific instructions).
    
4. Return containers to the kitchen. Notify the office staff if anyone was not at home or if you have other concerns.
    
5. Record your hours in the volunteer log book on the receptionist’s desk
