Are you looking to make your community better, stronger, and more inclusive? Are you looking to learn more about your community? We are the Bugbee Senior Center, and we are your community. We are your neighbors. We are your parents, your grandparents, and sometimes even your great-grandparents. We are mentors. We are veterans. We are life-long learners. We are really good at telling stories.
And we are fun!

Our volunteers tell us it fosters an appreciation for what is important and fulfilling.
Caution: Being part of Team Bugbee can make you feel a greater appreciation for life, for your community, and might even make your heart grow two sizes too big!
Your time commitment depends on you. We have volunteers who donate an hour a week of their time. We have others who donate five hours of their time per week. It is up to you!
Join our team of volunteers at the Bugbee Senior Center.
We have a variety of opportunities to suit your interests:
Meals on Wheels
Once a week (about two hours of time) a volunteer delivers a healthy meal on a set route. You get to know the folks on your delivery route.
Waitstaff
We serve lunch daily at the Center from noon to 1:00 pm. Get to know our folks and their likes and dislikes. Brussels sprouts are about as divisive as it gets at the lunch table.
Reception Desk
Answer phones and greet our visitors. As the receptionist, you really get to know the seniors who come here to visit.
Medical appointment drivers
Drive folks to and from medical appointments. This is a critical part of our services, and greatly needed in our rural area.
General Services
Get the first peek at next month’s menu as you prepare the Bugbee Bulletin for its monthly mailing. Or, help set the tables for lunch, decorate the Center for Holiday events, and more.
Special Events
For events at Bugbee to go smoothly and--most importantly--to be fun, we need a team of people to help. This includes helping with set up, checking people in, or even just "floating."
Bingo Callers
What kind of Center would we be if we didn’t have bingo? Some of our callers may have been comedians in a past life. If you like making people laugh and have fun, join us!
