Several of our local towns have a community nurse program. Community nurses work to help improve the health and well-being of area residents and offer some of the same services that our program fulfilled.
VERMONT: Senior Solutions is the Area Agency on Aging for our region, including Bugbee’s main service area. They offer several services that may be able to assist you, including case management, caregiver support, help at home, and Medicare consultation.
NEW HAMPSHIRE: Contact the Aging and Disability Resource Center.
Grafton County Senior Citizens Council also offers a helpful outreach worker who may be able to help connect you with additional resources.
TRANSPORTATION: There are several options available to area seniors for transportation assistance. Bugbee can often help coordinate rides to medical appointments with our volunteers. Call 802-295-9068 to get started. For more frequent or regular trips, or different kinds of destinations, see if either of our area’s transit providers are a good fit for you.
BENEFITS ASSISTANCE: The National Council on Aging offers a tool called BenefitsCheckUp to help you find programs that can help pay for health care, medicine, food, utilities, and more. Give it a try to learn what you may be eligible for, and then we can help connect you with a benefits counselor.
MEDICARE: Zenaida Blanchard from Bankers Life has been volunteering at Bugbee to help area seniors reach their retirement goals and get there with confidence and peace of mind.
ESTATE PLANNING & SETTLEMENT: Caldwell Law is a local firm that specializes in estate planning & settlement, long-term care, medicaid planning, and other services.
